Allow me to reintroduce myself…
So I know there is a link at the top of my page that says ” About ” but I really felt the need to write a post dedicated to me, and introducing myself formally to my subsribers. so here it is.
My name is Elissa Ann.Thats my formal name, but I’m hoping we are going to be good friends, so you can just call me Lisa. The only people who refer to me as “Elissa” are dr’s offices and business calls, and you are none of those so.. we’ll just stick with Lisa. Side note: I have always wondered why my parents chose a name that they never really had the intentions of calling me by, but it is what is.
Now that we are on a first name basis, heres a little about yours truly:
I’m going to be real up front. I’m pretty average, I’m no Jennifer Aniston nor do I live a glamorous life. I’m super awkward, and tend to get nervous so I’ll just talk & talk, hoping to fill the air enough to forget the awkwardness. Being funny doesn’t come natural to me so when I am funny, I tend to laugh at myself for an annoying amount of time. But most of the time it’s just crickets, and no one gets the punch line. But hey, that’s me, and I love my awkwardness.. and eventually, I’ll grow on you too (;
I’m 24 years old, and live in beautiful southern California. I have never lived anywhere else, but that doesnt mean I’m opposed to a change of scenery. Maybe one day I’ll pick up these roots, venture out. I have always been intrigued by Seattle or somewhere that actually has seasons (sorry California, no offense). But for now, so cal is home base for me. Life here consists of burritos, Disneyland, many days spent on the beach, and traffic, lots and lots of all traffic!
My entire family lives here minus a few who live in Nevada, so I’ve never really had the need to venture out or move. I’m the youngest of 3. I have an older brother and sister. We are a very tight knit family. Most weekends are spent at sporting events for the kids, birthdays, or hanging out just because we havent seen eachother enough as it is. My family is my number one. I have been told I’m the “glue” that keeps everyone together, and the more that we get to know eachother, the more you will understand why that is.
Speaking of family, that brings to me to my manfriend, the peanut butter to my jelly, the Joker to my Harley, my boyfriend Brandon. We met through mutual friends at a party over 3 years ago, and we have been inseperable ever since. Sometimes people come in to your life right when you need them the most, and that is definitely the case for him and I. We are friends first before lovers, and I think that is one of the most important parts of having a strong bond, and one of those little things that often get forgotten. Fun Fact: We work together, and this isn’t the first time either. We have worked together once before as well. I told you we are inseperable. I dont know how we haven’t gotten sick of eachother yet! (Just kidding hunny, if youre reading this).
Together, we have our furchildren. A 12 yr old pittie named Kora, a 1 yr old plott hound named Johnny Cash, and a really fat cat named Garfield (he lives up to the name, he once ate two subway sandwhiches, and a rotisserie chicken). I am proud to say they are all rescues, and make my heart complete.
If I’m not working, going to school, or blogging, typically you can find me binge watching a netflix series, right now our favorite is Walking Dead. DONT GIVE ANYTHING AWAY, we are only on the 6th season. Yes, I know, we are late to the game!
I also enjoy local farmer’s market, swapmeets, and garage sales. I’m always for saving a few bucks, and finding neat things. My favorite place to pick up vinyls is at a local flea market we have down towards the coast.
You can always count me in for a brunch date. I can eat breakfast at any time of the day. I’d say it is hands down my favorite meal.
I love waking up to the smell of fresh coffee, and putting some Jack Johnson on, and whipping up a big batch of blueberry pancakes. (Brandon’s favorite)
Afternoon naps are a must.
I love cooking. I dont think there is a day that goes by that I dont whip something up, even if its just a snack. Its therapeutic to me, a form of art. About 5 years ago, I started on a healthier lifestyle, and that is what really triggered my love for what combinations I could come up with, and that were actually delicious. I was tired of boring “healthy” foods, and I just started experimenting. Brandon seems to enjoy it too. The way to a man’s heart is definitely through his stomache.
Hmmm, what else?
I love to travel, in the last year we have been to Costa Rica, New Orleans, Vegas, 2x, and San Francisco. No trips in our plans for this upcoming year, but we are going to Disneyland! Stay tuned for pictures!
I enjoy hiking with my dogs, photography, concerts of any genre, movie theatre popcorn, candles, freshly washed bed sheets, and dark chocolate. None in any particular order.
During the day I work a 9-5, and at night, I’m currently going to school for my bachelors in Business Management. I switched my major this past semester from Psychology to pursue my passion for event coordinating, and becoming my own boss. The life that I envision for myself consists of me being able to at home with my (future) children, and not being confined to a schedule, and working to make someone else’s dreams come true.
Thats where the inspiration for this blog came about. After having one of those days where you leave work, and you contemplate if you are ever going to return. I started doing research, and realized that this was the key to my dreams. In the short amount of time that I have dedicated to this, I have grown a burning passion for this small little website, and I just want to share my life with the world, in hopes that what I have to share, can help and inspire those around me.
I think that should give you the general idea of who I am, but then again its pretty hard to capture yourself in a few paragraphs. I hope you stick around, and we become good friends❤️
